Sahar’s new work is a multi-disciplinary performance installation which continues her research around reproductive and sexual freedom, bodily autonomy, and the stigma of abortion for Arab women. The work will combine movement, photography, video projection and installation. It researches the physical, scientific, and intangible dimensions of the body, the mind’s conscious and sub-conscious response to abortion procedures.
It attempts to confront physical and emotional trauma, in order to envision a new sexuality and a new kind of freedom, by expressing the duality of pleasure and pain in the conscious and subconscious.
