Ori Lenkinski is a Tel Aviv-based dancer, choreographer and journalist. Her work on stage, the Internet or on paper, is devoted to exploring the connection between words and movement.
As a dancer, Ori has worked with independent choreographers in the USA, Europe and Israel. Her works include The Painting, Portrait #2, The Suit, Help Desk, Birth Preparation Course as well as the dance films Carriage and Expecting. She is a co-creator and movement director of the play Blueberry by Nataly Zukerman, which recently won Best Show at the 2022 Akko International Fringe Theater Festival.
On Valentine’s Day, 1962, Jackie Kennedy invited television cameras into the White House, what turned to an iconic tour of the extensive renovation she championed. In doing so, she reshaped the world’s image of the First Lady and of ladies altogether. This event became the basis for a choreographic research, which led to several Jackie-based, site-adaptable, specific creations: The Suit- a staged work, Meet Me in the Market- a tour of Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda Market, Meet Me in the Gallery- a walking tour of the Alfred Institute and Jackie Pink and Black- a full staged evening. My aspiration is to continue developing and broadening this Jackie practice, which bridges between dance, theater and tour-guiding.
