Pitching
“Suzanne Dellal Centre presents, Pitching – a new initiative that leverages the Centre’s expansive network of connections and resources to offer Israeli choreographers supportive creative opportunities abroad. Pitching will take place with an international committee composed of ten directors of dance festivals, companies, and academies, who will support proposals for new future projects.
Pitching was born from the idea to use the existing platform of International Exposure, the Centre’s annual showcase for dance from Israel, to harness the connections with our international colleagues in order to provide outstanding concrete opportunities for local artists to flourish internationally.
The Choreographers are selected through an application process to participate in Pitching. Each choreographer will present a proposed choreographic project for 2023/24 in front of the international committee and the guests of International Exposure, live, in English.
The members of the international committee have each commited in advance to offer an opportunity, such as residencies, commissions, and creation and teaching opportunities, to a choreographer from Pitching. Samuel Wuersten, artistic director of the Holland Dance Festival and the MA/BA dance programs of Zurich University of the Arts, serves as the Chair of the international panel.
