Gaga is the movement language developed by Ohad Naharin throughout many years, parallel to his work as a choreographer and the former artistic director of Batsheva Dance Company. Originating from Naharin’s desire to communicate with dancers, his need to cope with injuries, and his curiosity in the ongoing research of movement, Gaga is continually evolving.
Gaga is available to all, with tracks for dancers and people without prior dance experience.
Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening the body and improving flexibility, stamina, agility, coordination, and efficiency, while stimulating the senses and the imagination.
With studio classes since 2001 and online programming since 2020, Gaga has enabled tens of thousands of people in 60+ countries to discover their passion to move.
Join us for a dynamic lecture-demonstration with three representatives from the Gaga team: artistic director Saar Harari, CEO Noa Goverman, and head of foreign affairs Deborah Friedes Galili.
From the implementation of Gaga as Batsheva Dance Company’s daily training to its global spread as a movement practice enjoyed by dancers and people alike, and from the content of Gaga classes to the range of our programs, our conversation will offer a multilayered look at Ohad Naharin’s movement language.
Alongside our chat, experience Gaga for yourself with a short class taught by Saar Harari. In this mini session, we invite you to awaken the scope of your sensations, connect to the joy of movement, and embark on an embodied understanding of the topics discussed in our conversation.
